If you want some reality checks on tonight's presidential debate, I direct you to the NY Times' "Check Point" which does a good job of unpacking some of the key points.
This blog is an attempt to illuminate factual claims of the presidential race 2008, presented by those on any side of the political/social-cultural continuum, by going back to source materials rather than sound bites. It's tedious and boring data, but somebody's gotta do it. Hey, I'm a baseball fan; I like trivial datapoints.
Avid obituary reader, amateur gardener, undercover Episcopal priest, desultory baseball fan, high-falutin' tea drinker, and full-time pet owner. In 2008, I worked as a Kiva Fellow in Kampala, Uganda, an experience that only increased a long-held interest I had in Africa and effective aid, reflected in these posts.
